* Keep fruits and vegetables in separate areas of the fridge; some fruits give off gas releases that spoil vegetables sooner.
* Raw eggs are especially sensitive to odors. Keep them separate from strong-smelling things like onions, garlic, etc.
* Be creative - got a spare wire desk file caddy in the office? Use it in the fridge to organize!
* A sturdy, narrow cardboard box on it's side can give you an extra shelf for mini-items.
* Add a label with date on opaque containers that you put in the freezer compartment. If it's there long enough you'll wonder what it is and how old.
If you are feeling that you need to dispose of your many plastic containers and switch to glass, you should consider that those same containers can be reycled to use other non-food uses, so don't fill the landfill with them through your garbage right away.
